Fu Yuanhui had to settle for second place in the women's 50 meter backstroke final at the Swimming World Championships in Budapest, Hungary on July 27.
Fu was only one hundredth of a second slower than Brazil's Etiene Medeiros.
The other Chinese swimmer Wang Xue'er finished 6th.
Earlier, in men's 200 meter medley, Wang Shun won a bronze medal for China.
