Retail sales up during National Day holiday

Beijing's 120 major commercial service companies saw overall retail sales of 780 million yuan ($114 million) on Saturday — the sixth day of the seven-day National Day holiday period — up 8.8 percent year-on-year, according to the municipal commission of commerce on Sunday.
Convenience stores saw a 10 percent rise in sales year-on-year, bringing new consumption experiences to consumers.
Large shopping malls and experience centers also had more than 10 percent sales growth year-on-year, boosted by stronger consumption power and good weather during the holiday, the commission said in its report.
