Panda Guide reveals spring 2019 list of best farm foods

Panda Guide, the agricultural product rankings that aim to define "good taste" through strict review and evaluation, announced its spring 2019 list last week in Beijing.
This list was invested in and supported by Sinochem Group, one of China's petrochemical and agricultural giants.
Mao Feng, chief executive officer of Panda Guide, said all the results are based on a huge database and statistical science.
So far, the list covers grains, fruits and vegetables. The list was started in spring 2018 with 56 types of agricultural products. The number increased to 100 in autumn 2018.
The latest list for spring 2019 contains 132 agricultural products selected from 2,500 candidates through 544 field investigations and 265 lab experiments.
A variety of lychee from China's southern Hainan province and a type of peach from western Xinjiang were ranked top on the list.
The company announced another app called "Panda Taste" which will include not only the scientific data, but also customers' taste assessments.
It will build a bridge between consumers and farmers, Mao said.
Sinochem Group is a State-owned enterprise with 60 years of agricultural experience.
