Visitors will need to make reservations before they can enter major tourist sites in Shanghai during the upcoming Labor Day holiday in May, the municipal culture and tourism administration said on Tuesday.
The move is aimed at controlling human traffic so as to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19.
The administration advised tourists to look up the opening hours and make reservations beforehand. Visitors must display their identity cards and health codes or they will be denied entry.
Presently, 84 major tourist sites and 5,200 hotels in Shanghai have reopened, according to the administration.
