5.8-magnitude quake hits India's western state

NEW DELHI - An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 struck 122 km north-northwest of Rajkot in India's western state of Gujarat at 8:13 pm local time on Sunday, said the National Center for Seismology (NCS).
The epicenter was believed to be in Kutch area of the state.
So far there are no reports of loss of human life or damage to property.
State Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had an immediate telephone conversation with senior officials of Rajkot, Kutch and Patan districts following the tremor and got information about the situation there, said his office.
