Wang Yi calls for itemization of cooperation points with US

State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Thursday called on China and the United States to draw up three lists regarding bilateral cooperation, dialogue and handling of differences.
Addressing a forum on China-US relations via videolink, Wang said the two countries should specify all areas, bilateral and global, where they can and should work together, and the longer this list goes the better.
Cooperation on this list should be immune to the impact of other issues, he said.
China and the US should itemize differences that could be solved through dialogue, and designate those issues to existing dialogue mechanisms and platforms as soon as possible, he said.
Wang also called on Beijing and Washington to manage the few tough issues the two countries have little chance to agree on, so as to minimize their impact on and harm to overall bilateral relations.
