Overseas institutions buy more yuan bonds

BEIJING-- Overseas institutions bought more Chinese bonds in July, official data showed.
Transactions by overseas institutional investors totaled 896.2 billion yuan (about $129 billion) last month, up by 25 percent from the previous month, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trading System.
Global investors bought 571.3 billion yuan in Chinese bonds and sold 324.9 billion yuan, leading to a net purchase of 246.4 billion yuan, the data showed.
