Mainland spokesperson defends normal aeronautic activities

A Chinese mainland spokeswoman on Friday condemned the Democratic Progressive Party in Taiwan for distorting the facts regarding the mainland's aeronautic activities.
Zhu Fenglian, spokeswoman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, made the remarks after the DPP hyped up the mainland's planned aeronautic activities for supposedly the island's flight information region.
In accordance with usual practice, Zhu said, the mainland has issued advance notice to alert air traffic services and airspace users of the activity, and it is a responsible custom to ensure flight safety.
"The DPP authorities have been distorting facts and deceiving public opinion in an attempt to escalate confrontation across the Taiwan Strait for their own selfish gains. Such political tricks will not succeed," she said.
