Armed police assist in Xizang county's development

Officers of the People's Armed Police in Xizang autonomous region have been instrumental in making significant contributions to rural development initiatives.

Since 2018, they have provided assistance to Lado village in Damshung county, Lhasa.

Through substantial financial investments and project support, they have played a pivotal role in enhancing the village's infrastructure and promoting rural revitalization efforts.

With a total investment exceeding five million yuan ($710,000), the people's armed police of the region have facilitated the acquisition of essential equipment such as excavators for the village collective.

According to Tendar, the Party secretary of Lado village, the people's armed police had allocated 100,000 yuan in 2018 for the party's building works in the village, focusing on improving the working environment of the party branch.

Additionally, a significant contribution of 1.2 million yuan was made to purchase an excavator, which proved instrumental during the construction phase of the Lhasa-Nagchu Expressway, generating substantial revenue for the village.

The impact of the police's support extends beyond infrastructure development. In 2019, the village embarked on an initiative to establish a tourist guesthouse utilizing the village collective investment, with the People's Armed Police further investing 1.3 million yuan in renovating a building into a successful guesthouse operation.

Moreover, their contributions have extended the improvement of educational facilities, particularly in high-altitude pastoral areas.

In 2021, they constructed a 500-square-meter glass house for a kindergarten in Lado village, equipped with flowers, toys and hardened campus grounds.

The kindergarten, which is located on a grassland where the average altitude is 4,500 meters above sea level, experiences cold and windy temperatures throughout most of the year.

The initiatives by the police have significantly enhanced the children's learning environment, providing warmth and comfort despite the harsh weather conditions.

Pema Wangmo, the head of the kindergarten, expressed gratitude for the support of the people's armed police, emphasizing the positive impact it has on teaching facilities and the overall learning experience of rural children.

"The dedication of the People's Armed Police to national security and community welfare underscores their commitment to the well-being and development of remote rural areas," Pema said.

The collaborative efforts between the People's Armed Police of the region and the local communities exemplify a harmonious partnership aimed at promoting sustainable development and prosperity in Xizang's rural areas.

"I am very grateful to the People's Armed Police for all the assistance they have provided to us, not only have they greatly helped us in terms of teaching facilities and equipment, but they have also made a significant difference for our rural children in terms of playing games or studying in a conducive environment," she exclaimed.

"The soldiers of the People's Armed Police are not only warriors who safeguard the sacred land and maintain national security and stability, but they also constantly care about the healthy growth of our children."
