China Europe International Business School, or CEIBS, will consistently contribute to promoting China and Europe businesses and cooperation via management education as it celebrates 30th anniversary of establishment, said the school in a media briefing on Tuesday in Shanghai.

The CEIBS is co-founded in 1994 by the Chinese government and the European Union, and dedicated to cultivating business leaders with a unique positioning of "China Depth, Global Breadth". It is now present not only in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen in China, but also in Zurich, Switzerland, and Accra, Ghana.

Earlier this month, the school announced that its Global EMBA program ranked first out of over 16,500 business schools worldwide in the Financial Times 2024 EMBA Ranking.

Currently, the school has a prominent faculty of 120 notable experts and scholars from more than 20 nations and regions across the globe. Meanwhile, over 70 officials and more than 200 CEO and senior business executives in multinational corporations from Europe have been guests presented at the CEIBS' activities since its establishment, according to Wang Hong, president of the school.

Apart from program courses, the school has become a platform to promote both commercial and cultural exchanges between China and Europe. It held about 30 forums in 13 European nations and regions since 2012, with more than 200 distinguished political, business and academic speakers as well as more than 8,000 attendees from across the world in attendance.

Over the past three decades, the school has fostered a large alumni network of over 30,000 in 91 countries and regions across the world, including China, the US, Singapore, England and Germany.

"The CEIBS alumni have been pioneers in industrial development. They played critical roles in China's economic development, and reflected the change of the nation's economic structure. Students from the manufacturing industry used to the majority though, those from emerging sectors such as chips, new energy, digital economy, industrial internet and smart healthcare are continuously increasing," said Wang.

It has not been an easy path for the CIEBS over the past 30 years, and the competition among business schools has become fierce under current circumstances. Dominique Turpin, European president and professor of Marketing at CEIBS, said that modern business has a "interdisciplinary nature", and business executives focus more on "practicality" and "proactivity".

"Business schools must constantly adjust themselves to stay relevant in a fast-evolving world, and even be anticipating next trends. CIEBS is committed to continuously bridging the gap between academia and business, thanks to a strong focus on executive education," said Turpin.
