The Moshikou Historical and Cultural Block was once an important route during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911). The block has blended tradition with modernity by restoring 37 cultural relics and introducing bookstores, coffee shops and boutique inns
Its lively night scene, featuring events like the Spring Lantern Festival, attracts over a million visitors annually and boosts catering and retail sales by 30 percent, according to the local government.
The new list has highlighted Beijing's rich cultural heritage while injecting new life into urban development. The city plans to improve payment systems and transportation to make these areas top-tier tourist destinations.
