Mercedes-AMG Petronas team ready for Shanghai race


As the 2025 Formula One Chinese Grand Prix approaches, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas team is gearing up for the Shanghai race, aiming for a strong performance.
On Wednesday, team drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli took part in an exclusive talk at IWC Schaffhausen's flagship boutique in Shanghai's HKRI Taikoo Hui. They discussed their expectations for the upcoming race, shared insights on the 2025 season, and reflected on their professional journeys.
Peter Lao, managing director of IWC Schaffhausen China, opened the event by welcoming the drivers and extending his best wishes for their performance at the F1 Chinese Grand Prix.
Russell reflected on his journey with the team and his expectations for the season ahead during the talk.
"This marks my fourth year with the team, and I'm excited for my fourth Chinese Grand Prix with Mercedes-AMG Petronas," Russell said. "The F1 Chinese Grand Prix is a race we highly anticipate and deeply value. The entire team is fully prepared and ready to give our all."
Russell's recent interaction with former Chinese F1 driver Zhou Guanyu has gained significant attention on social media platforms such as Sina Weibo and Douyin. He expressed appreciation for the enthusiasm of Chinese F1 fans and hopes to engage with them more in the future.
