Suzhou pear blossom festival attracts young entrepreneurs

The 2025 Suzhou Shushan Pear Blossom Festival market kicked off in Shushan village, Suzhou High-tech Zone of Jiangsu province, on Sunday, attracting tens of thousands of visitors and young entrepreneurs.
The spring market integrated industrial innovation with rural vitalization and featured intangible cultural heritage performances and experiences and youth entrepreneurship empowerment.
Attendees got to sample myriad delicacies, such as drunken crab, knife-cut fish dumplings and green rice balls.
Forty brands led by young entrepreneurs made a presence, covering areas such as intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship, national trend cultural creativity, light food desserts and more, with 65 percent of them being younger than 35.
In the future, Shushan village will continue to organize creative rural competitions, establish school-enterprise cooperation platforms and provide opportunities for more young people to live in the countryside, according to the local government.
Suzhou's High-tech zone and Gusu district plan to strengthen cooperation in market branding, agricultural product sales and tourism routes.
