Forum on poverty governance, global development kicks off in Yunnan


The 2025 International Forum on Poverty Governance and Global Development kicked off on Saturday in Lushui city, Nujiang Lisu autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province.
Approximately 300 diplomats, government officials, and experts from 34 countries and regions as well as international organizations such as the United Nations attended the forum to exchange experiences on poverty reduction, promote the implementation of global development initiatives, jointly promote comprehensive rural revitalization, and seek ways for modernization and sustainable development.
Focused on the theme of "together promote rural revitalization and common development," participants engaged in discussions and sharing under four thematic forums.
They expressed that eradicating poverty is a crucial milestone in humanity's path towards modernization, and China's practices in poverty reduction and development can provide new references and insights for other countries and regions to advance rural revitalization and modernization.
They hoped that countries and regions across the world would grasp development themes, utilize green resources effectively, protect ecological barriers and develop characteristic agriculture and tourism industries tailored to local conditions.
