Governor of Shanxi under probe

Jin Xiangjun, the governor of Shanxi province, is under investigation for suspected "serious violations of Party disciplines and national laws," the country's top anti-corruption watchdog announced on Saturday.
The announcement, released online by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, provided no further details about the specific allegations.
Jin, 60, who hails from Hunan province, joined the Communist Party of China in 1984 and beginning his professional career in 1990. He has held positions in Sichuan, Hainan, and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
In early 2018, he moved to Tianjin, where he served as deputy mayor. He was appointed governor of Shanxi province in January 2023, after moving to the province at the end of 2022.
