One hundred and twenty-five enterprises from Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province have attended the 137th China Import and Export Fair, commonly known as Canton Fair, which commenced in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on April 15.
These enterprises have set up 180 booths, showcasing intelligent and environmentally friendly products to seize a foothold in the global market.
Three major takeaways from Nantong participants stand out: first, there's been a significant upgrade in product offerings, with over 70 percent of the displayed items being high-end manufacturing products; second, companies are diversifying their market strategies, with a strong focus on emerging markets like Southeast Asia and the Middle East, which are seen as vital targets under the Belt and Road Initiative; finally, the introduction of innovative elements, as many Nantong enterprises are launching new products, materials, and techniques.
During the Canton Fair, Nantong municipal bureau of commerce will utilize the official platform to release information on participating enterprises and their products. The bureau is set to establish a long-term tracking mechanism post-fair to ensure that cooperative achievements take root, consolidating and expanding the trade results brought by the fair.
This edition of the Canton Fair adopts a new "online and offline integration" model, with the offline exhibition held in three phases until May 5. Nantong's participation includes 406 enterprises and 645 booths. Over 200 companies will showcase their latest products and innovative strengths in the second and third phases, focusing on traditional advantageous industries like home textiles and clothing.
