CIFIT to help Chinese enterprises go global

A "Matchmaking Symposium for Chinese Enterprises to Go Global" will be held during this year's China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen, east China's Fujian Province.

The symposium aims to help Chinese enterprises gain edge in global competitions, break free of international trade barriers and encourage more domestic enterprises to invest overseas.

During the symposium, face-to-face talks between Chinese enterprise and investment promotional organizations from overseas will be arranged in the hope of helping Chinese enterprises to realize their investment plans overseas.

So far, the enthusiasm of domestic enterprises and overseas investment promotion organizations on the symposium is beyond the expectation of the organizing committee, said Huang Ling, vice-mayor of Xiamen.

It is highly expected that this "Matchmaking Symposium" will become a new hotspot in CIFIT, said Huang.

This "Matchmaking Symposium" has six features. Firstly, the participants come not only from the U.S and Europe, but also from Africa and the Middle East.

Secondly, "diagnosis" service will be provided. Foreign investment promotion organizations will send competent staff to discuss with Chinese enterprises on their overseas investment plans or schemes and provide their suggestions.

Thirdly, this symposium is highly authoritative with the participation of many prestigious investment promotion experts.

Fourthly, all overseas officials are officially invited by the Chinese government, further increasing the reliability and credibility of their intent for investment promotion and the projects offered by them.

Fifthly, the service of the symposium is considerate, featuring the application of professional matching software.

Sixthly, the cost for participating in the "Matchmaking Symposium" is low. Domestic enterprises have free access to the meeting room for negotiations.

So far, firms from over 50 countries, including the US, Britain, France, Japan, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Jordan, Poland, Mexico, Slovenia, Thailand, Mongolia, Cuba, Vietnam, Nigeria and Ecuador, have confirmed their participation in the "Matchmaking Symposium".

Meanwhile, nearly 60 enterprises from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangdong, Fujian provinces and Beijing decided to participate.

These enterprises include not only those large-scale state-owned enterprises like China State Development and Investment Corp., Sinopec Corp., China Metallurgical Construction (Group) Corp., China Non-ferrous Metal Group and China Water Resources & Hydropower Construction Group Corp., but also some private enterprises that are interested in investing overseas.
