Chinese action star Jet Li escaped with minor injuries when he was caught up
in the weekend disaster that saw tidal waves swamping the hotel where he was
staying in the Maldives, a report said.

World famous kung fu star Jet Li (L) is seen with his loving
wife, former HK actress Nina, in this undated file photo. They are now safe
and will return to HK as soon as possible.
[sohu] | Li was on holiday with his wife,
four-year-old daughter and friends at the Indian Ocean tourist paradise when the
disaster struck Sunday, the Singtao Daily reported. At least 52 people were
killed on the islands.
Li, 41, who starred in films including "Shaolin Temple," Hollywood action
flick "Lethal Weapon 4," "Romeo Must Die" and most recently in Chinese director
Zhang Yimou's "Hero", suffered minor injuries to his leg, the report said.
Li grabbed his four-year-old daughter when their hotel room started to flood
and escaped, the newspaper said, citing a spokeswoman from his management
company, China Star.
Li, who could not be reached immediately, contacted his family and friends
Monday and confirmed they were safe. They planned to fly back to Hong Kong as
early as possible, said the spokeswoman.
