'Delamu' | The Chinese Film Director's Association on
Tuesday awarded Tian Zhuangzhuang with the best director award of 2004 for his
documentary 'Delamu', a media report said.
Tian's film documents life along a remote and treacherous mountain road,
known as Tea Horse Road, which lies in southwestern China.
The award was given at a star-studded ceremony in Beijing, the popular Sina
Web site reported. Directors Jiang Wen and Chen Kaige among others were in
attendance, it said.
Zhou Xun was awarded the best actress award for her role in 'Baobei in Love'
and Li Xuejian took home the best actor prize for his part in 'South of the
Clouds', Sina said.
Director Zhang Yimou won the award for 2004 top box office receipts for
'House of the Flying Daggers,' a martial arts drama set in medieval China.
On Saturday, the US National Society of Film Critics awarded Zhang with the
best director honor for 'House of the Flying Daggers' and ``Hero,'' another
martial arts epic.
