Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce and Houston Rockets forward Tracy McGrady
were named NBA Players of the Week on Monday.

Pierce earned Eastern Conference honors after averaging
28.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in leading the Celtics to a 3-0 record
last week. He shot 48 percent from the field and 50 percent on three-point
attempts for the week.
McGrady was named the Western Conference Player of the Week after he led the
Rockets to wins over Seattle, Phoenix, and Sacramento. He averaged 31.7 points,
7.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 3.33 steals per contest for the week. In two of
the three games, McGrady registered over 30 points, scoring 35 against the
Sonics and 38 versus the Suns.

Other nominees for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week for
games played Monday, March 7 through Sunday, March 13 were Cleveland's LeBron
James, Dallas' Jason Terry, Indiana's Reggie Miller, Los Angeles Clippers' Corey
Maggette, Miami's Shaquille O'Neal, Sacramento's Mike Bibby, and Toronto's
Donyell Marshall.
