YOUNG PLAYERS
"Usually, when those young players get a chance to play for their national
team, they play extremely hard because they want to impress their coach."
The heavily-favoured Mexicans, who earned rave reviews after reaching the
semi-finals of the Confederations Cup in Germany last month, resume the final
phase of World Cup qualifying in August.
During the early stages of the Gold Cup, U.S. coach Bruce Arena used 22
members of his 23-man squad.
"It's too early to make final conclusions on the newer players," said Arena.
"These things take time but this (tournament) is a good chance to evaluate
them. There's a transition period for everybody."
One relative newcomer to have shone is Jamaica forward Jermaine Hue, who has
scored twice for the Reggae Boyz.
The semi-finals will be played on Thursday at the Giants Stadium in East
Rutherford, New Jersey.
The Giants Stadium also hosts the final on July 24.
