 Customs officers check and give clearance to
the first batch of relief materials for the victims of Hurricane Katrina
from the Chinese government at a Beijing airport September 7, 2005. The
materials, mainly power generators, tents and clothes, will be airlifted
to Houston by China Southern Airline Wednesday. China has offered $5
million in aid for victims and Beijing said the government was prepared to
send rescue workers including medical experts if needed.
