British police charged two more prime suspects on Sunday in connection with the failed attempts to bomb London's transport system on July 21, a police spokesman said, reported Reuters.

London police said Ibrahim Muktar Said, 27, and Ramzi Mohammed, 23, accused of planting bombs on the transport network, were charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to murder.

Each of the charges carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

On Saturday, Yassin Hassan Omar, 24, the first of the four main suspects named by police in their investigation into the July 21 attacks was charged.

The attacks came exactly two weeks after similar strikes by suspected suicide bombers killed 52 passengers on three underground trains and a bus.

Police said a fourth man, Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, 32, was charged on Sunday with conspiracy to murder and conspiring to cause an explosion on July 21.

Two others, named as Siraj Yassin Abdullah Ali, 30, and Wharbi Mohammed, 22, were charged with helping people to resist arrest.

All those charged will appear in court in east London on Monday.
