"Round"和"robin"都和體育運(yùn)動(dòng)沒有任何關(guān)系，round robin原本是和"圣餐禮"有關(guān)的一個(gè)嘲笑人的短語。短語第一次出現(xiàn)在1546年 加爾文(1509-1564,法國基督教新教加爾文宗的創(chuàng)始人)的著作 A faythful and most godly treatyse concernynge the most sacred sacrament of the blessed body and blood of Christ 的英譯本里: "Certayne fonde talkers applye to this mooste holye sacramente, names of despitte and reproche, as to call it Jake in the boxe, and round roben, and suche other not onley fond but also blasphemous names." 至于round robin用于和圣餐有關(guān)的文字的原由，沒有人能說清楚。
