一次，我去參加同事 Ann 的生日宴會，由于那家飯店我從前沒有去過，所以我一邊開車一邊找路。我對同車的同事 Jane 說：“I don't see the restaurant！”Jane回答我說：“OK, Let me keep my eyes open！”我大吃一驚，連忙問道：“What？You mean you have your eyes closed all this time？”Jane 知道我沒有理解這句話的意思，忙向我解釋說：“I mean I will start to pay attention！”我這才恍然大悟，原來“Keep my eyes open”是“我會留意”，而不是“雙目圓睜”的意思。
