BBC News Channel viewers saw weatherman Tomasz Schafernaker making rude gestures (see photo) at news presenter Simon McCoy, who had just made a lighthearted remark, the Daily Mail of London reported Tuesday. The camera panned to the Polish-born weatherman, who reacted to the sarcastic tone by sticking his middle finger up before suddenly realizing he is on camera. He then proceeds to try and disguise the blunder by scratching his chin. The BBC and the Met Office have been forced to apologize for the event.

--This is not the first time Schafernaker, 31, has found himself in hot water. Schafernaker is no stranger to controversy, having had to apologize previously for referring to the Western Isles as "Nowheresville" during a weather forecast. And earlier this year Schafernaker raised eyebrows among BBC executives by showing off his impressive physique, shirtless, on the cover of a gay magazine.
