The show tells a love story between the richest man in Jiangnan ShenWansan and Lu Liniang.

The performance has three chapters, and depicts the Ming Dynasty's (1368-1644) Zhouzhuang through the changing seasons, with spring's "Rainy lane", summer's "Picking lotus seeds", autumn's "Harvest", and winter's "Spring Festival", along with many folk customs to feature its culture more prominently.
