Trip to Mars lures applicants

A project that includes a one-way trip to Mars has attracted at least 450 Chinese applicants. Mars One, a Dutch company, plans to take humans to Mars in 2023, but they will not return to Earth.

據《中國日報》報道，荷蘭"火星一號"近日宣布將在2023年啟動火星單程之旅，他們將"只去不回"。

The project drew more than 37,000 applicants from all over the world. Wang Wenming, one of the Chinese applicants, a geology engineer from Kunming, said he is not afraid of the no-return trip. "I think the project is worth dying for. I'm serious about this, or I wouldn't try so hard to improve my English," he added.

在他們目前收到的全球3.7萬多個報名意向中，中國人竟然達到450多名。申請者之一、來自昆明的地質工程師王文明說："我不怕回不來，為這一項目即使犧牲了也是值得的。我說真的，要不我不會這么努力在學英文。"
