capital.[AFP] | Striker Mitsuhiro Toda put
Nabisco Cup winner FC Tokyo ahead soon into the first half with a ninth-minute
goal off of a cross from Masashi Miyazawa.
Juventus, which clinched its 28th Serie A title last month, was unable to
equalize until early in the second half, when Trezeguet pounced on a ball
dropped by goalkeeper Hitoshi Shiota after a shot by Pavel Nedved.
Substitute Giuseppe Sculli pushed the visitors in front with a goal in the
73rd minute, while captain Alessandro Del Piero followed with another two
minutes later.
Trezeguet fired in a fourth goal in the 81st minute to clinch a solid victory
for the Turin team after its humiliating 3-5 loss against third-ranked Hong Kong
club Kitchee over the weekend.
Juventus is among several top European clubs that will play exhibition
matches in Japan this summer. Last week, it launched its Asian tour with a 1-0
victory against J-League side Yokohama F Marinos.
Manchester United, Spanish champions Barcelona and German powerhouse Bayern
Munich are also scheduled to play matches here.
